The team comprising Dr. Monica Priyadharshini IAS, Assistant Secretary, MHRD (RUSA), New Delhi, Dr. Ravichandran, Special Officer, RUSA Coordinator, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai and Dr.S. Jenifa, Head and Associate Professor, Dept. of Journalism and Mass Communication, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai visited our prestigious institution on 29.09.2016, Wednesday. Principal of our college, Dr. D. Sarala Thambavani M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., D.G.T.,F.H.A.S, and the council members and coordinators including Dr. V. Kabila, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of Zoology, Dr. P. Selvi,Associate Professor of History, Dr. J. Rosy Grace Angelene, Assistant Professor of Geography, Ms. P. Savithri, Assistant Professor of English, together offered a formal welcome to the visiting team. The official meeting was conducted at the Folkes Hall where the Principal welcomed the guests and gathering.
Ms. V. Gowri, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of Physics gave a PPT presentation on proposals submitted to RUSA in the previous years. The presentation highlighted how the fund received was utilized in the previous years. She emphasized the importance of fund sanctions in the upcoming years.
Later Dr. Monica Priyadharshini IAS was accompanied by our Principal Madam for a virtual visit of the campus to understand the ground realities. Dr. Monica IAS visited all the departments of our college individually. Details of the renovation and up-gradation work proposed to be carried out in the Departments of Home Science and Tamil were explained to Dr. Monica IAS. Then she visited the Zoology and Physics departments to take note of their lab requirements.
The fund utility of 25 lakhs was inspected, followed by physical verification of a newly constructed seminar hall worth 23 lakhs and an SPSS software installation worth 2 lakhs in the MBA Department for the collaborative usage of the Commerce and Economics departments. She gave a positive review regarding the previous usage of funds utilized by the college and she recorded her positive note in the visitor’s diary.
