Department of Tamil
The Department of Tamil was established in the year 1966. In addition to offering part-I Tamil to all the students of the undergraduate program, the Department also offers B.A., Tamil & M.A., Tamil. B.A Tamil is being offered since 1966 and M.A Tamil is being offered since 2013. The Department has been upgraded as a research department in the academic year 2017-18 and now M.Phil and Ph.D., Programmes are also being offered.
Faculty members are Ph.D., holders, and 8 faculty members have been approved by the MKU as Research guides. Publishing research articles in leading national & international Journals and Participating in National & international conferences and seminars have been a regular features of the department.
